Naim uniti star

Has anyone had a demo of the uniti star yet, if so what speakers did you try, also can you run a phono stage with the star with other phono stages apart from naims own ones ?
I haven’t heard a Star (although the Atom and Nova sound great to me, so I doubt you’d be disappointed with the sound quality.) A non-Naim phono stage should be no problem, it’s probably best to use its DIN input, but it has an RCA in too.
Heard a demo with Naim folk at a dealer recently.Went from Atom to Nova via Star with Proac D20R speakers, nac a5 cable. I thought the sound was enthralling . Most of the time was with the Nova but I doubt I could tell between the Star and Nova. Certainly food for thought.
Dont know about the phono stage.
Also went to the Naim roadshow, Russel K 120s were used but the Nova was where it gelled, the Star and Atom were OK but I’d pick other speakers. Also heard with Sopra 1 last year, I wouldn’t pick those to live with.
The Unitis digitise their analog input, it can then be served to other rooms but if vinyl is important you my want to compare with a more purist approach.
I’ve heard the Star but own a Nova, which I use with a Rega phono stage - no problems at all with the combination.
Have heard both (mainly Nova) with a range of speakers; PMC, Quad, Focal, KEF and a couple I can’t remember. All seemed to work well and I could have lived with any of them, so it really was down to personal preference - couldn’t rule any out on any inability to drive them as there wasn’t any
I did hear the Star and Nova at the Signals open day back in May through a Focal Sopra n1. Thought the Nova had more detail and drive, but the Star was still pretty close. But I already had a Core so another cd ripper would have been a waste.
Hi John - I got my Uniti Star installed 5 days ago, with Harbeth Super HL5Plus and Lehmann Black Cube phono stage. It is a bit early days obviously but so far I am extremely pleased, especially for classical, contemporary, acoustic and vocal music from LPs, CDs, or lossless or hi-res audio streaming from Qobuz through Chromecast.
Next steps are to install Something Solid stands, to change the speaker cables and to plug the NAS, so hopefully things will get even better!
