Nova USB

My Nova continues to give pleasure, using mainly Roon and a little Naim App for internet radio.  However, today, I received a USB stick with some important digital transfers from old reel-to-reel.   ....Nothing!  The Nova couldn't see it.  OK, go to Naim Support.  A little digging brought up "Uniti Nova isn't playing music files on my USB drive."  Great!  ...Only reads NTFS, HFS and FAT32.  Well, the supplied USB stick is formatted in ExFAT, and clearly can't be read.  OK, I'll reformat.  ...Only my Mac doesn't give the option to do NTFS, or FAT32, and is appears to offer HFS+, but not HFS.  OK.  I'll bring up Parallels and do the job in Windows.  Voila!  Reformatted in FAT32 and my Nova is happy.

So, credit to the on-line support.  But why did Nova enable so few filesystem formats?
