RIP Malcolm Young

the mighty AC/DC were part of the sound track of my teenage years and I was lucky enough to see them live several times. Sad to see another rock great pass away

Is ‘a vegetable’ really an OK term for a human being, no matter their state of consciousness?

Sad news about Malcom a great rhythm guitarist. The combination of Cliff Williams -Phil Rudd on drums was just so tight.

Loved Malcoms stage wear as well. The same blue sleeveless t-shirt and jeans.

Thanks for the great gigs and albums Mal.....RIP. X

AC/DC were a great band, especially live, I have fond memories of quite a few gigs in my late teens and 20s. Although Angus obviously was the focal point, the rhythm section was superb, Malcolm was a fine rhythm guitarist. RIP

Really sad. One of my favorite bands growing up and one whose music still makes me crank it up and run off with the knob. Simply infectious. Malcolm to me was the driving force of the band. An absolute riff master with an uncanny nose for the hook. His rhythm and Rudd's drumming set up everything else.

Something which always sticks in my mind about Malcom was in an interview and I can't remember what the question was but he said something like

The money's all there now so we concentrate on the craft side of things and he explained it's the pride you take as a musician playing the best you can which is your craft.

Yeah Tabby - I saw that interview.

One of the greatest bands ever - I was fortunate to see them on the Highway to Hell tour with Bon Scott - I'll never forget it.

I just heard John Inverdale relay this sad news at the end of the Scotland vs New Zealand rugby coverage. I hadn't realised. They finished the programme with Back in Black, which is rather fitting for the All Blacks.

I was lucky enough to see AC-DC in Hastings in 1979, I think. Tremendous band at that time. Malcolm contributed to that great driving rhythm section that gave Angus and Bon Scott the freedom to boogie.
