Atom Display

Unless I'm missing something Naim are really missing a couple of tricks.  Album artwork display is great, but otherwise options seem very limited.  An option to display the clock permanently (ideally with an analogue option), a choice of screen savers, being able to change the colour, better and/or selectable icons are just a few ideas off the top of my head.

EDIT - I've also got up in the morning and found the display blank but the four buttons on the right illuminated which I don't understand and can find no reference to in the ''manual''.

Agree fully and I’ve found that a CD is the perfect size to block the screen at night when it’s too bright.

In some ways I think they're damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Many purists would probably love to disable the display entirely, at least when music is being played, especially as most functionality is on the App (eg DLNA server navigation),  though I agree perhaps a clock or calendar type display might be welcomed by many as the Unitis are pretty much one box lifestyle solutions, just add speakers.

Ultimately I'd rather they concentrated on ironing out any streaming bugs/issues but I suspect many display related feature could be added in future firmware assuming there's enough memory for the features to support enhancements.

I think Naim did concentrate on getting the units to pass certification. They won't necessarily pick up or take any notice of a general thread here, so the best way to request a feature is to use the feedback option in the app, because the developers do see those.

Having said that I know that dimming/turning off the Naim logo is on their development roadmap, but I haven't heard of anything else (which means what it says - there is no reason why I would necessarily know anything!)

I'd like an option to turn it green :-)

When I had the Atom for a week I also discovered that many of the screen options that were advertised on the Naim site were not actually available on the new uniti range.

Perhaps they will address these in future software updates.
