Naim price rise
Posted by: Gazza on 01 December 2017
We now have a January price rise due to Brexit costs of 4 %. If you were thinking of a 2018 upgrade best to contact your dealer for stock and his pre-price increase orders. I will refrain from commenting, said enough before......
I just heard the same today from my Dealer - Jan Price rise expected not sure on %
On the Signals Facebook page it’s mentioned and website January actual new prices for the Naim range, not April as usual. Click on the website you have 2017 and 2018 ranges prices, much reduced product offering is obvious.
I took a look at the Signals web page and its states, "All were ordered prior to the recent price rise and will be supplied at the pre increase 2017 prices" and "Once our current and December stocks run out, we are moving over to the new prices announced some months ago:"
It sounds like they are still clearing orders/inventory from the previous price hike and when the inventory is depleted they will be honoring the price hike 'announce some months ago.'
So is there anything from NAIM that states there is another price hike or dealers running out of old inventory?
If you look at the Signals hifi first page that loads up, at the bottom is latest news Naim price rise, click on it and they quote the Naim statement released to dealers. In the middle of the page is their reference area which if you click on it has all the price lists of manufacturers, and a 2017 current list and the new 2018 list for Naim.
I have some 30 Naim boxes but I find it really tacky that the new prices are not in round £100 or £75 but are £999 and £098 and this just reduces my trust in Naim and their pricing and whereas I used to trust Naim and buy their stuff based on experience of how great their products were in the past now I think that are falling back into the pack of manufacturers.

Remember in the UK legally manufacturers price are simply suggested, and are not binding in any way... the transaction price is agreed between you and the retailer. Of more note are the cost rises for the dealers.... and of course that won’t include VAT etc, and so the resultant actual price won’t be a nice round figure. In many retail sectors retailers are absorbing or partially absorbing cost rises from suppliers
The price list on signal hi fi for the 2018 does not show some items ie fraim, does that mean there is no change from the 2017 prices.

Fraim is now on the “accessories” price list (before there was one price list for everything).

They were both listed as discontinued a few months ago...
HDX is finally gone as well. I wonder if there had been a single purchase since Core was available...
