Unti Core – can't delete or get rid of orphaned CD-Folders

Posted by: Lorenz on 03 December 2017

Did some CD-ripping with my Core. Deleted the albums afterwards using the app. The albums do not show up anymore in the app (UPNP). If I browse to the corresponding "MQ" folder on the "Music" share of my Core via my Mac or WIN PC I can see that the music (and meta data) files have indeed been removed. The enclosing album are still there and I can't get rid. Seems that I'm not allowed to delete these... :-(.

Help on deleting the empty folders appreciated!

Hi,

The folders in the music store cannot be edited from the network so you won't be able to delete them manually - the system administers these folders.

The folders themselves take up effectively zero space so although I do understand that it may look messy there is no notable impact upon the free space on the internal drive.

I've raised the issue to the software guys to see if there's anything that they can suggest but for the meantime there is no detrimental effect of those folders still being there.

Best

Phil

I’m pretty sure N-Serve has an empty trash button. Doesn’t that remove them?

No, you can delete the files in the folders - but the folder structure which was initially created stays in place ...
