another Hicap

Ive had an old chrome red light Hicap since the summer, was on my stage line until i Got my nac202. Was then using powered aux2 for the stage line, sounded good but missing something. Anyway today I picked up another chrome Hicap to go on the Stageline so should be back to the good stuff again ;-) Interestingly its a 1988 chrome bumper but has an inline fuse holder on the iec like olive and current.... I guess i should call up Sheila at Naim to see if they did a service on it.... possibly needs new reservoir caps but Im competent to do that job myself anyway

Sheila is now retired but if you call or email Naim with a serial number then they can give you any history that they have for it.

A Naim service (or Class A) would be my recommendation over trying to do it yourself (discussion of which is anyway, outside of forum AUP). A service is a bit more than just the replacement of the big caps, the parts will be Naim supplied and selected, and if you ever wish to sell on then an authorised or factory service is much more attractive to any prospective purchaser.
