System Pics 2018

Welcome to System Pics 2018.
To start things off, here are a couple of pictures of my setup. There have been some big changes over the past year; a 300 and a 555PS, and some extra shelves to accommodate them.

Well it blimmin well doesn't on mine (goes off to power up his laptop. Grumble. Harrumph).
I've read that using wood and kindling, rather than coal - gives better resolution. Although my otherhalf's steam driven laptop is crap any way it's fired up.

Although this sentence could be read as eulogic as it is, I actually meant no edginess or 'drive' in excess.

My cat charlotteke came home with this little singer
Who knows if the little singer could be employed as replacement stylus/phono stage/amp: have you tried leaving it there with the LP spinning? Just one tiny nail of its in the grooves and it could find itself singing Götterdammerung..
The only non Naim part of my system apart from racks.

No changes to the system this year, however now that Mrs. H has decided to move some furniture around I need to move the rack and chair over to the right in the New Year.
Only problem is that the Ethernet cable has no more 'play' in it, meaning my job in the next few weeks is to run a longer length of cable. I have the 10m C-Stream, I just need to get on and do it!
Maybe a box swap upgrade to come this year, need to save some cash.
As usual, some fantastic rooms and systems in this thread......
Thanks Max. Sounds like it has been well worthwhile. I may well explore this option in 2018.

2018 will be ruled by my newest addition- Xerxes 10 with Hadcock GH242 and Hana EH

Love the look of the Hutter rack Chris goes well with the new kit and doesn't take up much space like the Naim Fraim and IsoBlue
Hutter = Less Clutter !
Controversial [@mention:8184226735374105] !
Hutter is a little unloved around these parts, but for our small living room it was / is the perfect choice due to its smaller dimensions, whilst still offering a good sonically stable base on which to place the system.
Your set up is really nice too, very clean and uncluttered and an equisite looking plinth and TT .

I have the smaller eclipse speakers in my system (TD 510Z mk2) amazing speakers, tried a few before settling, really surprised they don't get more love?
Never heard the bigger brothers, they must sound epic!

Lee – The Eclipse TD712z Mk2 are wonderful speakers with brilliant timing. Most of my listening is at moderate or low-level volume; sometimes from a near-field position when working at my desk. They could do with more love on the forum, though the look and presentation is very different and unconventional compared to the usual suspects recommended by members. Being a single drive, full-range unit may also give the impression that they don't offer a lot of speaker for the money? I would choose these over any number of multi-drive boxes out there. Enjoy your 510s.
Hi everyone. First post in this section with my brand new babies: D7
Very nice to see the pictures of other members' systems and rooms. This is how my home office system (where I do most of my listening) looks like at the very beginning of 2018. The LP12 was added just before the New Year and plans for 2018 include upgrading the Nait 5si to a Supernait 2, followed by a speaker upgrade - current speakers are Audiovector SR1 Super, so either SR1 Avantgarde or some other respectable 2-way speaker. And then of course an upgrade of the MC step up (current one is Rega Fono MC) and then the speaker cables (current ones are fairly basic Chord wires, but quite good though) ... I think I knew when I got the LP12 that I was going down the slippery slope again!
That is a cracking office system!
Stu
Thanks. Looks like you're pretty well sorted in the LP 12 department as well! The rest of your system is not too shabby either ...
First time system pic! Naim made it into my lounge in 2017 and I have been blown away. The 272/250 combo is amazing for someone that doesn’t have *any* physical music collection but loves sound. Already dreaming of an xps for 2018 and perhaps some focal sopra 2’s to complete. My track of 2017 was Duvchi’s “whole life tour” and the system bought it to life.
Happy 2018.

Good to see some Monitor Audios
Two pieces of small advice if I may, that are very inexpensive and should help your system sound even better:
1. Spikes for those MAs - not sure if you have them
2. Glass shelves on some form of isoloators under your Naim’s (see my system pic as an example).

Don't fool yourself, that's when it all started!
Wish I would've kept mine.

PS. Nice Stu!
Hi Adam,
I know, m/a’s Are a rare combination it’s seems but they sound great to me! the m/a’s have sizable spikes built in, just get a little lost on the carpet.
Isolation is my next thing but I am waiting until I get the power supply before commiting to what that might look like...today it’s some large granite chopping boards under both boxes...
