System Pics 2018

Welcome to System Pics 2018.
To start things off, here are a couple of pictures of my setup. There have been some big changes over the past year; a 300 and a 555PS, and some extra shelves to accommodate them.
And one from this year.......................................................
Fair point Badlands.
Your photo also reminded me of how awful the colour white is for a car.
I lived in Michigan many years ago with Lake effect snow, like a 24 hours a day snow making machine. Still always got into work in Dearborn near Detroit, just seem to cope better in the U .S.
Not if you’re in the Houston area. A heavy frost will bring the freeway there to a standstill.

Its all about being prepared and the resources which are put into being prepared. The same can be said of Nordic countries; but the UK (with exclusion of Scotland) have on average a dozen days of snowfall a year, very little of which settles to any great extent so equipment beyond enough grit spreaders for the major roads are (considered) a waste of money.

Agreed, Eloise, but I think it is somewhat embarrassing how the transport and school infrastructure of the UK seems to fall apart at the first dusting of snow. I can't believe this is solely down to lack of resources (but I'm off topic).

Nice CAT's in the background
OK, while I'm somewhat guilty of taking the thread slightly OT (only slightly, as concealed behind the walls of the factory are some very fine systems indeed!), I think it's time to get back on topic. Thanks.
Post a picture of that gorgeous RP10, Richard and all will be forgotten...
I can do better than that James. Here's a pair of ZX-9s (one is mine, one belongs to a colleague).
Nice !!
Lots of lovely buttons to press and fiddle with...those were the days. I never quite got to Nakamichi levels though, bet they sounded great, possibly still do. My old technics deck is long gone, but did start me on my Hifi journey.
Great posting Richard on a similar tip,
Think you will like this picture from an Image search.......OMG.....what top Nak isn't represented ....ZX9...CR 7 ...CR 5....RX 505...DR...Dragon.......very nice.

Poor effort ... you could have got the tape counters synchronised!

Identical machine?—-so that’s the only way to hear stereo (one for each channel ).
Having returned from a full service at Bowers & Wilkins over the Summer the ZX-9 is sounding pretty amazing really. The sound somehow manages to transcend the limitations of cassette in a way that eludes any other deck I know - including a number of other top end Naks.
Here it is temporarily sat on top of the Naim DAC while I try to make some space for it somewhere on the Fraim stacks.

Interesting to see that the deck that they have chosen to actually play a tape here is the ZX-9...

Oh Richard - you're just not "getting" this are you?
What you should have said is that you'd sent back the ZX-9 to have the S/PDIF upgrade fitted and here it is in use with the Naim DAC...

Looking v nice. Simple and jealous of the SL2. Wish they where not so rare.
Thanks Mort2k. They do come up occasionally. If you go to Hifishark and set a reminder on there for SL2 then you’ll get an email when a pair are advertised on the web across Europe. That’s what I did and ended up sourcing my SL2s from The Hague in the Netherlands!
There's a pair for sale right now in the USA on a well known audio site, but I am in no position to dip my toe in that water...
