System Pics 2018

Welcome to System Pics 2018.
To start things off, here are a couple of pictures of my setup. There have been some big changes over the past year; a 300 and a 555PS, and some extra shelves to accommodate them.

Spurrier - nice system, what brand are the panels behind your speakers?
Thanks. ATS Acoustics.

Hi
How many meters of naca5 behind the speakers ?
Nice system BTW
Regards
There is a 5m pair now. I did have 3.5m but picked up the 5m as I’m planning on getting a dedicated rack for my Naim gear and the 3.5m wasn’t going to be long enough to reach the right speaker.
Tganks.

What does the Pro-Ject sound like ss?
It sounded pretty good what little I’ve heard. I compared to Tidal with same album and the TT was a bit warmer sounding. Didn’t think either was ”better” but they had a different presentation. Not a huge difference but different. Unfortunately a nasty hum has been detected and as of now the TT is gone. The guy I bought it from took it back to check if there was an issue with the TT but the hum didn’t follow the TT. Unless I get this issue fixed I will go back to all digital.

Hum or rumble? I had both with my project debut carbon. An Earth wire was needed between the ground post of the TT and the amplifier. I have done a lot of tweakery on the TT to get rid of the rumble. There is a lot on the web regarding this.
Besides these peculiarities, the project debut carbon + ortofon red is an engaging TT.
Not quite a system pic, but I thought you all might like to see my freshly serviced early original NAIT from 1983, which I took up to Crewe last weekend for a static display.
And here it is alongside its 35 year junior, the 2018 Uniti Atom.
The humour seems to have got lost over the years, actually that seems to be the case generally but when was it last used in a Naim advert?

And this Naim Atom I have bought for my son, one last attempt to get him and his girlfriend to start listening to some music through a better system.
/Peder ????
Wow, Peder, a very nice present! I hope they really love it.
Yeti, the original ad campaign ran through the early '80s up until around the end of '87.
Apart from the static display above, there were various Mu-Sos around CW1 House including my own Mu-So Qb that was doing an amazing job at filling quite a large room with music streaming via Airplay off my iPad. And you just have to love a Mu-So wearing a hot orange grille!
There was also the latest Naim for Bentley system, as found in the almost achingly gorgeous new Continental GT.
Ooh what beast, is the Naim system a standard fit, it is not listed in the options.

It’s the ndstatement on the photo. No need a rack.

Sorry should have clarified, the BENTLEY GT
I thought spikes sound better than rubber feet. Maybe Peder uses spikes in the winter season on his Bentley in North Sweden.

The Naim for Bentley system is the top audio option on the Continental GT. You have the basic system, the B&O system as a mid grade option and then the Naim for Bentley system at the very top.

???? Ardbeg10y,....I've never thought about it, but you have right..We actually run on "spikes" up here in the winter.
That's probably why our sound-systems in the cars sound better in winter ????????????.

Yes, it was really nice of Richard to let them have his motor for the day.

Ha! If only... I have to admit that while I've long admired the Bentleys, loved the quality of their interiors, and very much enjoyed the occasions when I've been lucky enough to get behind the wheel, I've never really felt that if I had the money I would really, really want one, except for the fact that that would be the only way i could have the Naim for Bentley system. However, all that has changed with the new Continental GT. It's stunning in just about every area. The photo above doesn't even cover its best angle - for me that would be the rear window area where it meets with the boot; the designer obviously had the Towns designed Aston DBS in mind when they did this, it's a sublime detail. And then you open the door and you're presented with probably the nicest interior of any car on sale, now, or perhaps ever. It's sublime.
Yes, I know it's expensive - very expensive. Yes, I know it's got a great big W12 up front that probably isn't very environmentally friendly, that for most of us just to pay fill the tank, let alone stump up for a service would bring on a major financial crisis, and that in most parts of the country outside of the south, for the purchase price, you could buy a house instead, but... to see it, and touch it and sit in it, you end up aching to have it. So, to those of you who could afford it, I urge you to go and take a look at one. It's sensational.
If one of us went that far off topic you’d be ticking us off!!

One of the perks of being the boss, Nigel. Now, back in your fish tank.

Not at all, Nigel. I would argue that it's still very much on topic - it's a gorgeous wrapper on a rather special Naim system within.

Sounds fabulous.
