System Pics 2018

Welcome to System Pics 2018.
To start things off, here are a couple of pictures of my setup. There have been some big changes over the past year; a 300 and a 555PS, and some extra shelves to accommodate them.
Dev B posted:Can you describe your change and the reasons for doing so. Do you still have the P3.
Hi Dev,
The reason for the switch is purely physical. :/
The change from ARO is huge which I knew from a previous demo. But I've never listened to an SE in a Sondek without usual Keel or Radikal. Alma twisted David's arm and I got my home demo . I thought EKOS SE was much better than the original EKOS and I thought that this is an alternative I can live with ( albeit need some getting used to) This is not a tonearm I *love* but more like *respect* for its many superior capabilities and ability to extract more out of the cartridge previously impossible from the ARO. Presentation is Linn through and through and I reckon it still needs to settle down. ( arm cable breaking in, too )
I still have the P3 but probably I will put it up for sale.
HH, a plastic knob and balls of steel time to go to the doctors.
New stands are on order to replace the Custom Designs RS303
Christopher_M posted:Perol posted:hungryhalibut posted:No. The 272 is going nowhere, though I may consider its replacement should one ever appear. I thought about an ND555 and a 552, using some of the compensation from my accident, but it’s just so much money. Instead, I’ve put it in the bank to help the boys with house deposits. The system I have is absolutely brilliant and the Fraim has upped things a lot, which I’m now hearing as everything is back on song after being off for an hour or two. It’s all rather wonderful.
Accident, compensation, Boys house deposit, paintings etc ..
Very interesting
How someone spends their money is their business. Theirs alone.
I thought this thread was about pictures of hi-fi sets?!
I’m interested if someone has got themselves a bargain but as for all the other bragging and boasting about what things cost, how much you have and what you are going to do with it it’s just embarrassing and gladly extremely rare on this forum
Bob, I realise that for some reason you are not very keen on me, though we have never met, but perhaps you could stop having a pop at every opportunity. I was simply explaining that I wasn’t changing the 272. Others can buy full 500 systems, BMWs and all sorts, and you say nothing whatsoever. I can assure you I’d rather not have been knocked off my bike and ending up with a life changing head injury, even if it meant not having a single penny in the bank. I thought you would approve of me helping my children rather than buying HiFi but it seems not. Clearly I can do nothing right in your book, and I’ve never said one negative thing about you. You have lectured me about trying to be nice, so perhaps you could try the same thing. If you don’t like my posts then you can simply ignore them. Please let’s let this go and the forum will be a happier place. And if you’d like to pop over for a cup of tea, you’ll be very welcome. I’m very nice and mellow really.
I think most people do help their children without the need to have it ego-spelled out in a hifi forum.
Also the accident can be repeated all day long...privately..

Looks great HH, and a bargain as well...Enjoy

HH, that looks superb, like the rack, black boxes and speakers were made as one. It looks like a lifestyle design (and I mean that in the most positive way - cool, sleek and discreet), but, as we all know, with the SQ of a top end system.
Very cleverly put together.

I didn't realise you were so sensitive Nigel.
I’m not sure how to post a picture of my balls?
OK, I think that's enough of the personality discussion - this is certainly neither the thread, nor is the Naim forum the place for any such discussion. Please stick to posting and discussing pictures of music systems. Thank you.
I’m a bit stuck with importing a picture. I saved it to Flickr using the iOS app, copybthe URL https://flic.kr/p/28SH9FA into the source in the image box in the menu (mountain image) and I get a blank box posting?
Mike, I don't know the specifics of Flickr but for most hosts you need the "direct" image URL - that's the only one that will work, and you also need to ensure that your settings are not "private" - i.e. the image can be publicly viewed.

I use Imgur, but if it's the same principle you need to copy and paste a link which ends .jpg

Congratulations, what good taste you have. Well I would say that, I have a very similar set-up. Unfortunately my better half does not agree and all the females around me who have seen my rack or yours find it „aesthetically not very pleasing“ or „so eighties“ and wonder why Naim can‘t build a transparent or invisible system. While the SL2 seems to meet with a certain sympathy, the black boxes do not.
Your rack is very tidy, I wish I could make all the wires disappear like that.
HH - Looking very nice
Question how have you routed cables to the left speaker ?
Like this...
The photo posting has me stumped I’m afraid. I’ll go listen to the new Steven Wilson albumin ????
Okay so, here we are. Seem to only to be able to do this from the desktop using a right-click "copy image address" on the Mac... very last year.
This is my new Nova and Totem Forest Signatures in the lounge.
My old system went to the media room, here with Totem Hawks, a Cambridge CXUHD Bluray, UC2, Core, NAP100 and Apple 4K TV and the 65inch OLED screen and very old Rega 3. The old speakers (to the sides) have been stored away for a future project...
I use Flickr which is quite easy upload photo then click on it so that it opens in it's own page next to it is an edit symbol and a curved arrow that points up and to the left click on this and a box will open with options click embedded and then click copy. Now go to the Naim forum and in the reply box press insert media not image media is the one with a play symbol click on that and a box will open press embedded and the click inside the text box then press paste and then ok.

Nice and neat
My new 282/HiCapDR/300DR, complemented by PMC Twenty5 26s. All needs a few more days to burn in. NDX 2 to follow soon.
The fireplace was ripped out to accommodate the Twenty5 26s

That's outrageously discrete and neat, HH. How can the rest of us justify our cable jungles now?
