System Pics 2018

Welcome to System Pics 2018.

To start things off, here are a couple of pictures of my setup. There have been some big changes over the past year; a 300 and a 555PS, and some extra shelves to accommodate them.

NAME THAT SPEAKER?

A small speaker quiz.

This picture was taken a couple of years ago after I bought some Dynaudio X32's and after my other half accused me of having the beginnings of a serious speaker addiction

Naim the cart?

This was the cart I bought to replace the K9 on my first Sondek.

The ones far left and right are Guru QM10 with Epos ES14 on stands next to them. The small ones on the floor look like something from Mission or Cyrus, no idea about the Subwoofer and the small speakers in the middle.

The cartridge looks like a Denon, perhaps a DL 304.

This might be a good idea for a new thread, by the way.

A Chinese valve amp I bought about 5 or 6 years ago a Yaqin MC 10 I think weighed a ton but actually sounded very good a nice sparkly top end and reasonable bass from those big EL34 valves at the side.

Well done Mulberry you got the the Guru QM10's and the ES14's and almost got the small ones at the front lets say you were half right about those and you got the cart right.

The small ones on stands in the middle are a pair of Q acoustics, perhaps 3020s. We have a white pair in kitchen!

My own QM10 mk 2’s still serve as main speakers.

My old UnitiQute 2 used as a source into 122x/150 can't remember the stand though.

The small ones look a little like  Mordaunt-Shorts from the nineties, only rounder.

I unpacked a demo pair of QM 10 IIs about an hour ago

Denon DL110?

And of course Richard is right it is the DL110 not the 304.

No not Mordaunt Shorts.

That’s what I thought, MS never had rounded cabinets like these.

Mission either 760's or 780's?

Perhaps a Cambridge Audio Sub?

New stands are on order to replace the Custom Designs RS303

20 hours on the clock for my new Tab10 signatures bloody hell these sound good probably the best speaker I have heard in any living room. Spirit of Eden first track there's audible footsteps that i have never picked up on before and this is one of my favourite albums!

If I didn’t have my speakers I’d love to try the Tablettes. Those grey stands are horrid though. The Tangent heavy ones, distributed by Bryston, are supposedly the ones to beat. They certainly look better, being black and square.

I have new stands on order I was tempted to buy the Target MR60 from Bryston but they are based in Canada so I opted for the next best thing some Custom Desgin SQ404 in black.

I thought Target R4s were the best ones for Tablettes.  I had a pair of filled Target R stands for my old Proac Studio 100s - they were so heavy I did my back in moving them around (I was trying to position the Proacs as surrounds at the time in an AV system).

There's more than one way to skin a cat! My rack is now next to the sofa, so under the floorboards was the only option.

I think the Target R4 and MR60 is the same stand just a model name change and years between them.

Yes, Target not Tangent.
