System Pics 2018

Welcome to System Pics 2018.
To start things off, here are a couple of pictures of my setup. There have been some big changes over the past year; a 300 and a 555PS, and some extra shelves to accommodate them.
The 2nd system for the office hasn't really changed on the surface since last post – but it has under the hood. 1983 NAIT 1 just came back from Audio Plus, freshly recapped. After about 40 hours break in, and fed by the Mojo, these Tablette Sig 10s are sounding stunningly lovely. Can't believe a little 15w integrated from 1983 causing me this much joy – and where it will go upon further break in.
Very nice, Kishekar. Its all we need and preferred by me over the half-a-million+ systems (the other topic).
I found that pairing a Chord Mojo with older Naim gear is having more synergy than pairing it with the recent stuff.

Very nice, simple but beautiful Can I ask what the source is? Just a laptop to the chord then to the Nait 1?

Indeed – keeping things deliberately simple. MacBook Pro (Tidal) to Mojo via an AudioQuest Forest USB cable.
And the Mojo travels with me and some Oppo PM-3 headphones most days when I head into the 'real' office or travel.
The trick in the office is music selection. On the NAIT/ProAc pair, need relatively mellow music so I can stay productive while working. Anything too engaging, when I'm trying to focus, and I'm listening to the music instead. A relatively happy problem.

Very nice HH, just not sure about the socks...
How could you be drinking Lagavulin 16 and not have the fire lighting?

Lagavulin, 16 YO, my favourite. I enjoyed a double of that with my family at an audiophile bar in Kings Cross on Monday. A unique and interesting experience. Only problem was they were playing Mingus, the lost tapes, which sounded to me like a jazz band trying to play while falling down a flight of stairs.
Anyway, I digress. Have always liked your front room Nigel, very cosy.
Still a lovely room Nigel, but surely the Telegraph would make it all sound better...
Stu
Good heavens. What a suggestion. I’d be drummed out of the Party.
Shouldn't that photo come with a product placement warning?
I think your feet are connected out of phase!
Recently acquired a NDAC (top left). After 5 hours warmup only, solo piano pieces were hanging in the air like breath... the level of detail compared to what I already thought previous to the addition was pretty damn good, was astonishing. I'm almost too scared to listen after the 3 day warm up on Sunday. ????
It also provided a genuine Homer Simpson moment when slotting it in. I switched the XP5XS burndy from the ND5XS to the NDAC. Plugged the xtra power cable into the NDAC. Plugged a power cable into the ND5XS.
Couldn't figure out why, however I arranged the power cables, nothing seemed to work. Lights came on in various combinations, but music there was none.
After several panicky calls to the ever-patient Gordon at Hometech, I finally realised the obvious.
Two words... Blanking. Plug.
D'OH! ????

Wonderful room and system Ian. Interested to know which wall shelf that is on the left. Are you pleased with it and did you compare it with other options?

Looks like the DNM/Reson wall shelf from the late eighties/early nineties with a different board on top. Haven’t seen one of these for a while.

Yes DNM/Reson is the correct answer - good spot. I didn't compare it with other wall shelves, it was lying around in my dealers back store and it looked nice and unobtrusive so I just took the plunge. It is certainly better than having it on top of the fraim stack.

We are both called Nigel and we both like Lagavulin 16YO, but for avoidance of confusion, I am not the owner of the socks (or the system).

You should be both glad your not a "Lionel"
I’ve finally finished the setup in my new house.
Apart from the acoustics, I am very happy with the result:
A lot of hard surfaces. How about a rug ?
