More core issues

Now I am home...

More issues:

Edit metadata screen on iphonex -- clips the title "Edit metadata" to a row of dots. Yes, I reported it, yes its been ignored

Traffic light info for rip errors: red green and orange. Go to look at the status after the rip, and you find the orange issues have now become red. No, I have no idea why this is. It might just be the dev team being lazy and not applying the right colour. It might indicate something else, who knows?

Starting the app on network with no naim devices results in a long boring delay while the app says "Finding rooms". It eventually times out. Reported, not fixed.

Setup new product versus Add room manually -- incoherent thinking here. Reported a year ago, not fixed.

Firmware update page (check for updates) -- doesnt tell me the current version -- the field is blank

Innumerable painting issues -- for example there is a gradient transparent bar at the top of the screen. Go to the Settings page. The word Standby and the power icon get gradually darker as you look upwards. Prove this by picking up the list and scrolling it up and down. You will soon see what i mean. Been there for a year, not fixed. 

I'd cover NAS support including backup/restore etc. But my core cant see either of the Synology NAS's on my network. So I wont. (and yes, I can ping all three devices on the network from my laptop). This is completely broken here.  I guess this is the "Faster and more reliable shared network discovery" in action.

your core is perhaps still on guarantee, your dealer can send it back to naim and replace it?

you seem to cumulate too many problems with it, not so few as some other members on this forum.....Perhaps your core itself is defective, not only a problem of metadata or firmware issues....

 It’s not crap btw - it’s a statement of fact. I’m very happy indeed. As I’ve said before if you don’t like the Core move on but what ever you do abuse of this kind really isn’t nice is it?

please just move on - these endless problems with Core are better taken up directly with Naim or just go with a better alternative

fit for purpose let your dealer sort it  , that's what they get paid for..   we all need faith in the dealer.

That would indeed be a shame, Jon's critique is most useful. It has certainly helped Naim pinpoint a number of Core deficiencies. Naim might have failed to acknowledge and solve a number of issues buth this does not mean thet they are not aware of the problems. Further, Jon's critique has helped other forum readers to make more informed choices. On the other hand, comments like those of RAVENSWOOD10 and SHROPSHIRE HILLS are not particularly helpful and, frankly speaking, responsible. Complacency does not help improving current products. Nor does it help designing better new ones: if you feel tired of reading critical posts about a product that you own, just move on. Reading is not compulsory.

Yes I agree Jon was pushing Naim to sort out this product and had the contacts at Naim, but was still a struggle even for that......hope he continues in the background.
