How to correctly rack NAC252DR / NAP300DR (and stacking 2 boxes...)?

Posted by: TomSer on 19 December 2017

In a few weeks I’ll replace my SN2/HiCapDR with new NAC252/SuperCapDR/NAP300DR system.

The whole system will be:

- Audiophilleo + nDAC + 555PSDR (main source)
- CDX2 (transport)
- NAC252/SuperCapDR/NAP300DR.

Unfortunately, I have one rack only.
This means I’ll have to stack 2 boxes on the bottom shelf

All shelves are 2cm thick glass.

What would be the better combination?

If you mirror the order of the box it’s feeding with each power supply can you get all Burndys to clear the floor? So taking b1 as the starting point, 555ps on the bottom with the supercap on top, then the 300ps on the next shelf. If you can change where the large gap is you could try the 555ps below the double ps shelf, that would put the source ps away from the amp ones. Meanwhile order a more suitable rack and for that level of kit full fat fraim would be ideal.

At least buy another shelf. Better still, another rack!!

CDX2 is a transport, the main source is the nDAC

Yeti, Chrissu,

Thank you for your answers.

I would prefer to keep that rack. It's a very nice Schroers & Schroers (Berlin) rack with 6 shelves made of thick glass (2 cm).
But I made some measurements this evening and there is still room for another shelf!

What do you think about the combination below ?

The CDX2 is used as transport only.
Would the following combination help isolating the NAC252?
