As the title says.

Hi BigH47

I would not install it. I did and regretted it. It messed quite a few things up. The best thing to do is search the MAC forums on house keeping. Generally delete the old logs after a quick review of whats in them. Run disk utility to check volume and disk permissions. Google FSCK for mac. It takes you to the apple support site which is a walk through for running the command.

vguk thanks for that.

Try Onyx - it is a front end to standard tools and it is free (or at least was last time I looked)

TBH - the iMac shouldn't need much in the way of house keeping, but I've found Titanium Software's Onyx to be a good package. I wouldn't use Mackeeper if they paid me; vguk is not alone with his experience as I know others who have asked me if I can help undo what it did.

Onyx and TinkerTool work great.

Thanks for the replies guys. I wasn't having any problems just wondering if I should be doing something. Must be a Windows hangover.
