AV2 Analogue Versatile 1 & 2 label confusion

Posted by: rackkit on 30 August 2011

I'm looking to hook up a 5.1 Bluray to my AV2 using RCA to the 4 pin DIN inputs and am little bit confused by the manual. V1 in multiple (versatile) mode on one page says it inputs front L-R and surround L-R. V2  in multiple (versatile) mode inputs centre, sub and rear L-R.

Another part of the manual describes V2 L-R as extra rears. So which is which for just rears in a 5.1 set up?

Thanks in advance,

Rack, when the manual refers to "rear" it means the rear effects channels on a 7.1 system.  For a 5.1 system the rear effects channels will be the "surround" channels, because the rear two channels are not used.

Ah, that makes sense now.

Thanks for explaining Richard.

The channel nomenclature was equally confusing within the pro audio realm as well, until recently–don't feel bad!

Glad it's not just me then!
