Naim App Internet Radio “Stop Stream” feature

Posted by: Hanover33 on 22 December 2017

Hi, maybe its me but it seems the latest version of the Naim App has removed the ‘stop stream’ command when playing internet radio.  This was a nice feature to, well, stop internet radio. Now you have to close the window that shows what’s playing, click on the gear at the top right, and select ‘standby’ unless I’m missing something?  You can’t even select another input as a way to stop the system, you have to ‘standby’. 1 click to 3 seems to going backwards for ease of use...

Mine still shows the Stop Stream button, so something seems amiss.

As far as I can tell this is an issue with the streamers rather than the app. My NDX still has the ‘stop stream’ option, but my Atom does not, which I find quite irritating.

Question is what app,  iOS or Android.   But whatever as Chris says it sounds more like its something the app is not correctly set for with the Atom.  Stop stream is showing & working OK for my iOS with NDX,  but I never use it TBH.

Sounds like a new bug to me. Its quite important for anyone with a limited data package to be able to stop the iradio stream. I suggest Hannover33 that you report it to Naim using the in app feedback option.

Good point about limited data package,  I'm unlimited so it doesn't matter but I still have my NDX iRadio set to Auto-Disconnect after 4 hours    -  just an occasional nuisance to have to touch the app screen to reconnect.

This came up in beta discussions awhile ago, so I’m hoping Naim will take it on board for a future update - presumably to streamer firmware rather than the app.

Thanks everyone, I’ll put a ticket in and if I hear anything will report back!  I checked my Mu-So QB, it does have this option as well, so it must be new Uniti range per Chris’ post.
