Tagging by artist surname

Put David Bowie in Artist and Album Artist, and put Bowie, David in Sort Artist and Sort Album Artist

BTW how do you handle "The", Sorry,still new at this. Asset UPnP, dBpoweramp, Yate ,Qnap NAS

I just rename the "The's" in the NAS using Windows Explorer /  File View.   Beatles, The,   Moody Blues, The,  Who  Strolling Bones etc..    simpl'z

Dump asset, use MinimServer.  Fill the Artist in as (e.g.) Bowie, David and then use the “reverseName” option (see http://minimserver.com/ug-libr...reverseName%20option ).  You can also automatically ignore The (and other words as you choose) in names for sorting.

Alternatively you can fill in ArtistSort (and AlbumArtistSort) for each artist.  So (e.g.) Artist: David Bowie; ArtistSort: Bowie, David.

In AssetUPnP setup, you can change setup to...

The Artist & Album Handling has 3 modes (examples using The Beetles):

Smart: this mode keeps the artist text as The Beetles, yet sorts the artist under 'B'
Value, The: places the on the end, for example Beetles, The
Leave as is: does not adjust the displayed value or sorted position
