On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:
Boy George and Culture Club : Life, Yellow vinyl.
I didn't know I liked BG until I heard him live. This new album is terrific.
John Butt & Dunedin Consort - Bach: Magnificat & Christmas cantata
Cecilia Bernaardini & Dunedin Consort - Bach violin concertos
The Best of J.S.Bach - Naxos cd now ripped to core.
I was unable to listen to any records yesterday as we were looking after my mother-in-law. But the opening track from this record, the title of which I won't mention as I doubt there is any forum member who wouldn't recognise it, was discussed this morning on Soul Music on BBC R4 FM.
Saw this on s few end of year lists and it sure is vibrant and essential.

Double vinyl released 2018 - Excellent album. ????
Now Playing..........
John Hiatt - Terms of My Surrender
Streaming on NAS........... kicking off this Wednesday morning with John and he has the feet moving with a slow shuffle and the toes tapping to tbe beat, very nice, very very nice........
Two of my favourite Canadian artist's to chill with - Sarah Davachi & Ian William Craig.
If you want to follow them, Bandcamp is your friend.
Death Cab for Cutie - "Plans" (2005) for some unknown reason this band was in my dreams last night. l think of them as an American partner to Coldplay. Small-minded-Coldplay-haters should keep comments to themselves.
Now playing.......
John Moreland - Big Bad Luv
Streaming on NAS.......... carrying on with John's 4th album that was released in 2017, a little bit of sweet Americana that is hitting the spot this morning. Wonderful vocals, lyrics and music, and worth the time to give a listen........
Death Cab For Cutie - "Narrow Stairs" (2008)
1982 - Nick Cave pre Bad Seeds and a sign of things to come. Heβs mellowed quite a bit since but the same madness can still be found in one of the albums of his more recent side projects like Grinderman.
Death Cab For Cutie - "Codes and Keys" (2011)
Really enjoy listening to this, particularly at this time of year !
Now Playing........
Horslips - Drive The Cold Winter Away
Streaming on TIDAL........ A mention from SLOOP JOHN B yesterday had me place this in the queue and getting a chance to take it out for a spin this morning!
First listen to a very welcome Christmas pressie from yesterday. Looking forward to seeing her and the band live in March this year.
(1978)
Chic - C'est Chic
That fine Nile Rodgers fellow doing those wonderful things to make it impossible for us to stop our bits from involuntarily bopping around, the SQ on this recording is up there with Steely Dan and Fagen's best sounding material...
Nathalie Loriers - We will realy meet again
- Double Bass β Nicolas Thys
- Piano β Nathalie Loriers
- Saxophone β Tineke Postma
