P'Faun - sp'roque

This is a tremendous album from a German band of old timers, managing to mix up Berlin School with a little psychedelic space rock, lovely Gilmoresque guitar breaks wafting in and out interweaving the music and tracks. A huge thanks to Nick Lees for gifting it to me via bandcamp this Christmas, as ever he knows my musical tastes very well, this is right up my strasse.

I saw them a couple of months ago in Brighton at the Concorde 2 venue on the seafront,holds about 300 people.Arrived a bit late with girlfriend and had a pint at the bar.I thought the guys on the stage where warm up d.j's anyway went in and it was the Orb.Thought some of the 45 mins we saw was o.k but all their playing around with the digital mixing side and waving their arms etc.But really I couldn't help thinking its all pre recorded anyway,

All finished at 10.30...couldn't even have another drink.....WTF !

The album - Honey is a wonderful showcase to Roberts songwriting. A sadly missed performer.
