On the eve of a new year, it's time for a new thread.
Last year's thread can be found here:

Chamber Jazz in a groovy, late 60’s style. Warning: this album features harpsichord. See also their Girl And Robot With Flowers that slips a couple of years later in style and in parts is almost Valentyne Suite in flavour.
Thanks for the harp alert warning, Nick.

What was the Thomas Beecham line about harpsichord? Something like two skeletons copulating on a tin roof during a thunderstorm.
You’re not a proper hippy if you don’t like records with:
- harpsichord
- sitar
- phasing
- backwards guitar
Preferably all at once!
Bought at the time vinyl
Why? Felt revisiting the 1990s for a while.

Dont forget fringes - “fringes man, they move with you”, a real hippy in a fringe jacket once said to me.

Because I'm in the mood to continue floating around somewhere between the mid sixties and seventies, these MFSL flat transfers from their hi res vinyl box set collection are lovely.

You know I love a harp when I can get my hands on one, we still regret selling the last one :-(
An antidote for a stressful day....

I admit to lusting after a Crosby-style fringe jacket, with knee-high boots. But settled for the crushed velvet/fur coat look. My Dad never forgave me.

I was undecided whether I wanted an Afghan coat to represent the hippy in me, or a Parka with the maximum RnB Who logo on the back à la Quadrophenia.
I was really a bit too late discovering both, so luckily for those who knew me at the time, I had neither.

I went down the Jim Morrison leather jeans route (black and dark brown) very comfy and the ladies seemed to appreciate them, no regrets at all.

Dire Straights - Alchemy Live (1984)
My first playing of anything by Dire Straights. Thanks to the person who posted Private Investigation earlier. The guitarist and the vocalist are amazing.
Currently playing through the UnitiServe and bare nDAC having added a Cisco 2960 8tc to isolate the NAS and UnitiServe. It is now as good as the CDX2 + XPSDR with SL IC. Next step to put the SL IC and XPSDR back. Close to streaming now.

Buy ‘Dire Straits’, ‘Communique’ & ‘Live at the BBC’ to get the original line-up.

the guitarist and singer are the same person. You should have a great journey discovering the rest of Dire Straits catalogue and then that of Mark Knopfler's solo career if you have enjoyed what you have heard so far.

INOUK - No Danger...
This evening a bit of Miles Davis - again confirming the wide variety of music he created. Started with a nice one...
