Hi everyone! First time poster and Mu So purchaser!
Having bought one second-hand for Christmas I am enjoying this magnificent piece of kit immensely.
However I have one or two issues I hope that people can help me with -
Firstly when streaming Spotify to the unit - it works fine with all music, apart from Podcasts where my iPhone informs me that I can't play it right now (sorry, can can't play the content while connected to another device). Does Spotify not allow Podcasts to stream to wireless speakers? Apologies if this is obvious - I'm not well versed with the nitty gritty of streaming to external sources!
Secondly the unit is perfect apart from a hiss/buzz, which I think is emanating from the tweeters. It is pretty obvious when turned on with no music playing, sounding like background white-noise. Is this normal?
Also when unplugged, and then plugged back in/turned on, the bottom illuminating light for 'Naim' does not immediately work - only after 30 mins of use does it switch on (not a problem if I keep in plugged in, but just a minor query if anyone knows why this is).
Otherwise I've been blown away by the quality of the unit and look forward to many years of use from it!
Thanks for any and all responses.
Alex

The “reluctant” illumination is a little odd, but the buzzing sound from the tweeters is more concerning. Does this occur irrespective of source - ie internet radio, streaming, analogue and digital sources ? Does in increase with volume ?

Hi there,
Yes it occurs irrespective of the source - when turned on with no music playing it sounds like faint white-noise. No increase with volume.
Any ideas if this is normal? Or would it benefit from a service...

I’m no expert, but I don’t recall my Mu-so ever emitting a buzzing noise (I reluctantly sold it in 2016 to part fund my Uniti 2)
unfortunately, I don’t believe Naim service Mu-so’s, but I believe I read somewhere that a third party company does.

Well this is a bit frustrating - does anyone know of any third-party companies who service Mu-So's?
It's more like a hiss which is definitely coming from the tweeters.

Why was it for sale I wonder? I'm afraid it does sound like you have two faults here. It shouldn't hiss and I have no idea what is going on with the Naim badge which should come on when you turn it on and go off after an adjustable time.
You could try doing a factory reset (not sure of how you do that but I expect you can google it or ring Naim support and ask them.) That might fix both faults..
best
