Atom's remote avaibility

Posted by: Bouba on 09 January 2018

Good noon all,

I'd like to whether the new uniti remote is available as a part, as advertised on the atom's support section, what is the price?

My remote is working correctly, however, the glossy plastic body gets so easily marked/scratched, so just in case, i'd like to know when/where the remote is available and what's the price?

Also, will it easily pair with my Atom as I read somewhere that each remote can work with only one unit?

thanks

It's listed on the 2018 pricelist at £125. There are instructions on the FAQ page for pairing it, although I don't know if you can pair more than one remote at the same time.

that's very helpful thanks Chrissu. The price in Euro might well be above then. I think that's what I meant : you can pair only one remote at the same time; hence my question whether the "old" one becomes unusable once the new remote is paired with the Atom

I doubt too many people have tried pairing 2 remotes, maybe Naim support could advise you on that. Not quite sure I understand why you need two at the same time, though!?

You can only pair one remote at a time. If you pair a new one, the old one no longer works.

£125!  I don't even want the bloody thing.  Just utterly underwhelmed that Naim don't think that compatibility with universal remote controls is important.

I'm pretty sure that universal remote controls working on the newer Zigbee technology will appear on the market sooner or later, as they become more widespread. Personally, I'm not remotely interested

Personally, I think the price is fair, I expected something well beyond that price, and I won't be surprised at all that price in british pound almost doubles when ordering from French dealers.

I will have mine replaced and I will make sure I find a sleeve or a "case" for it to avoid scratching it, the one that came with my Unit already started to scratch. The gloss finish is pretty but I would have prefererd something less prone to scratches and less finger-print magnet.

It's not as if Naim had the best part of an extra year from their original release date to come up with something themselves .
