New Unitis - no volume recall per input?

Posted by: dave-mac on 20 January 2018

On my muso, the different inputs remember their last volume levels - spotify might open at a 1/4, digital at 1/2 etc. On the atom the volume doesnt update when switching input. So, if you use optical for your tv like I do (with its inherit low volume), you can be in for a nasty surprise when you switch to something else and the volume is deafening.

Has there been any word on this feature being updated to work like the muso range? I can't understand why they've decided to release it without tbh.

While it's not exactly what you want you can adjust the volume level per input—so that each will effectively play at the same volume as any other input at a given volume level—by going to Settings > Input settings, clicking on the right arrow of the appropriate input and messing around with Input trim. Sorry if that doesn't really help.

Finding the lack of volume control for all the inbuilt network services very annoying, You can only alter the digtla or analogue inputs volume. Tida and all the rest are tied to the same universal volume level. As I use volume leveling in Roon its proving really bad when I switch to internet radio or Spotify as it just booms out.

Can't you alter input trim for the iradio and Spotify inputs, and just dial them down to something similar to your roon input? I can on my 272, and would be surprised if it's not available on the new Unitis.

If I could I would have, there is no trim for them showing up in the app.

Input trim is available only on Analogue, SPDIF and HDMI. Maybe there is a reason for this, but I have no idea what that would be.

That's daft.

An issue for those affected to take up with Naim support, I think.
