Posted by: longmanjon on 20 January 2018

hi all,

im looking to set up a second system and have an old Aries to use, is it possible and simple enough to use the Aries with an old Supernait 1? And how can it be connected up?

thanks

Yup, should be fine connected to the Supernait via s/pdif - either coaxial or optical TOSLINK. You just need an appropriate s/pdif cable.

Great thanks Richard I didn’t think it would be too difficult but wasn’t sure if the old nait had limitations, I’m expecting it to sound quite nice into an old pair of allaes

The main limitation with the supernait 2, is it doesn’t have a slab of aluminium separating the transformer, rectifiers and smoothing caps from the rest of the circuitry.
