Forgive the confused title - I'm really not sure what heading my question falls under!
There has been some noise in the press recently regarding Chromecast dongles and wi-fi traffic. An update has been issued, and I found out how to check if my dongle had updated or not. The Chromecast site showed all latest versions of all products, and I was pleased to see that indeed my 'Cast had updated itself.
So far, so not Naim. But....
The same page also showed version numbers for Chromecast Audio, so I thought I would check my Nova as well. Latest version, 1.29.xxxx, installed version 1.21.xxxx. Looks to be quite a way behind! So, how does this work? Is there anything I can do to start an upgrade, or does it come as part of a Naim firmware upgrade package? Don't ask why I need to update, I'm just a serial meddler!
In a similar vein, I listen to a lot of Radio1 shows on demand. Accessing via the app, all available shows are listed as folder symbols, easy enough for a bozo like me to understand. Click - play. Simple! But some shows are no longer broadcast. They have been replaced by a similar format show but with a new dj. Unfortunately, the old show folder (now empty) is still displayed, and the new show is nowhere to be seen.
I am reluctant to bother the busy bods at Naim with this issue as it may be nothing to do with them. Would this issue be down the the streaming platform provider, the BBC, or, via an eventual update to the firmware, Naim?
Any thoughts appreciated - and Richard, if this is not in the most appropriate forum subsection, could you paste it across?

Hi Chris, I have dabbled a little with that method, and it's useful to know it is there. I guess I am more used to using the Naim app, so tend towards that direction.
Perhaps I should try your suggestion more often - after all, if I have my tablet out, its probably as quick to access the iPlayer as it is the Naim app.
Nonetheless, does anybody know who is responsible for updating the Naim iRadio content?

As far as I’m aware, all iRadio content, including podcasts and on-demand, comes via V-Tuner. If you find anything missing on the Naim app, maybe worth emailing some examples to Naim support. They have, in the past, been able to take up these issues with V-Tuner and get them sorted.

As a further update, I have contacted Naim support for guidance here. I'll update when they respond.
Interestingly, I just tried the BBC iPlayer site for a comparison. Although far more comprehensive (obviously) than the Naim site, it is far harder to use. The site seems to find it impossible to simply list all available on demand shows in a clear and easy to access way. It also includes live radio on the same site.
I can get my programme (eventually) but it seems like hard work compared to the oh so simple Naim app. (Does that make me the first person on this forum to heap praise on the Naim app?!)
Perhaps it's just me - if your mileage varies on this, please feed back with hints or tips - many thanks!

I find the iPlayer app layout easy enough to use, but I'm used to it, as I use it quite a lot. I agree that the simple lists in the Naim app are easy to navigate around, but then there is no full 'listen again' feature, and you can't browse the schedule.

I think you've summed it up there - just need to use it more!
Curiously, I find the iPlayer app for TV programmes very easy to use, which is why I am surprised at the radio version.
Many thanks!
