ND5XS connect to NAC 202 - which input?

I connected my ND5XS to the CD DIN-input of my NAC 202. Problem is that the signal is extremely strong so I have to turn down the volume to almost zero. What is the best input to use?

The Naim preamps are rather sensitive for the fixed 2V output of most digital sources. Using a different input will not change this. It does make the volume control a bit awkward to use - and almost impossible if you are using it with 'system automation' via the Naim app. If your speakers are efficient, and do not require the volume to be turned up high, the problem is worse.

Any, but AV.

Thanks, good to know the background of it. So then I won't change anything. I'm used to turn down the volume when I change to the streamer and then turn it up slightly.

The NAC202 has the same input sensitivity as all of the older pre-amps at 75mV.  Its the same on my Supernait, compared to the Supernait-2 which is less sensitive at 130mV.   All the newer amps don't appear to specify this anymore.

With my Supernait I have the volume normally set for background when playing NAT-05 tuner & go from that starting point,  its in effect my zero volume point;  the NAT has a lower output voltage than NDX so the NDX will give a slightly louder volume at the same setting,  it gets cranked up for serious listening.    TV sound run through NDX needs a lot more volume. Its always changing, background or serious listening,  different for FM radio to iRadio to TV,  I've just got used to changing volume as required.

I guess there is no setting to put the volume to almost zero when turning on the ND5XS
