Going Passive? will i miss a Life of Active?

 Can one go from a past  active rig of  1980s Isobariks  with naim 6 pack  of 135s   to   2002 NBLs with three 250.2s active again  552/555DR, CD555/555.DR, LP12 ,akiva, NDS/555DR without deep regret       can I    with the right speakers go passive and get glorious sound. To this effort I'm soon adding a 500DR/500PSDR to have for the future passive  , new speakers I am hoping to find!          My    plan is to sell the NBLs and amps, crossover and supercap  I'll will save a bit of room and I can get nice new speaker cables without  breaking the bank......But what speakers ????????? my room is 14' X  26'   So far Ive heard some wilsons and tomorrow Vandersteens  The Chiago show is coming and I plan to go I wecome all suggestions.
