Wenger - no 282 is my stopping point.  I plan for a 555 for the CDS3 when funds permit.

And an excellent stopping point, Lindsay.  I thought that the 282/SCDR combo had a delightful mixture of high-end refinement and real boogie.  Ok, it's still expensive by most peoples' standards but in high-end hi-fi world I think that combo is brilliant value for money.

Now I have a full 8 shelves of Naim isolation glass and cups on my HiFi Racks my 282/SuperCap DR sounds as good as the 252 without the brawn isolation shelves. Truly amazing what the 282/SCDR can do. I truly believed I would have to upgrade to get music sounding so beautiful to listen to and filling the room. Some difficult decisions ahead.

All comments suggest the SCdr on the 282 is a great match, I’m looking forward to giving it a try  myself sometime soon.

NAC282/SuperCap DR is indeed a great match and the synergy with the NAP300 DR is simply sublime

What about an Olive SC >> 282 for the tight fisted amongst us?

Depends on the cost. I like to think it would still be a step up over a new HCDR but hard to quantify that.
