Obscene amounts of lucre.

It's just awful how people with more money than me spend it on expensive stuff and then discuss their stuff with other people who have more money than me about their own stuff.

With pictures.

It's all so unfair.

That's a great swear filter catch On the old Richard Thompson forum years back, Saturday got changed to Sadoggie-dooay. The thread it was spotted in was full of posts from people, me included, typing Saturday to see if it really happened.

Only part seriously, but within the topic. Many years ago part of my job role was to consider requests for help to purchase clothing. The guideline was 'one to wear, one for spare, one in the wash'. So is it obscene that M&S (for example) sell socks in packs of seven. Or is it relative? Or is it not obscene because people don't post pictures? Except of course those people who include their feet in their equipment pictures....

It would be obscene to waste water by washing socks one pair at a time.

Posted on: 09 February 2018 by JamieWednesday

Wouldn't know. Never wear a pair more than once.

I'll need to ask my footman (see what I did there?) what he does with my socks.

Why can’t we have more ways than ‘like’ to show how we feel for you than replying. Facebook managed to do it. Stick to the music room as the music is what matters.

If this is an attempt at humour it's a poor attempt.

The first ever post I read on this forum about four years ago was by someone who said that people who bash Naim were just jealous that they couldn't afford it.  I thought that was just about the most odious thing I'd read on this forum until this week and it's been surpassed three times in a week now. Well done.

I’ve been called elitist in here because I kept money in my back account rather than buy a 282, which I didn’t like enough to shell out for. Takes all sorts.

Then there are those who try to shame you because you must conform to their view of the world or be bad by default. But that's just wanking.

Lighten up, Bob.

Hint...

Richard suggested in that other forum when all the groaning started in the System 2018 thread about the alleged Filthy Rich OCD floating about, that the drift should start again over here in the Padded Cell.

To quote the late Lord Upminster:

"A sense of humour is required, amongst the bacon rind".

Just never buy a second hand mouse or keyboard from them. Past that, life goes on and you take the good with the bad.

Shall we add that to the Ian Dury criteria?

Those were his only 2 items he insisted must be bought new.

OK. Now we're talking about something worth talking about

That album still gets plenty of spins around here. Well, streams, to be pedantic. Dare I call it unique? Yes, I think I will.

I'm sure his holiness Lord Vereker would have been very proud of some of the more outlandish obscenity fluffing up around his parts.

Posted on: 09 February 2018 by Sloop John B

How in the name of all that’s good and holy is typing  “****” (tw@t) is  not acceptable whereas typing  wanking   is?

I've grown accustomed to wearing cashmere socks so packs of seven pairs would be obscene.
