Superline

How does one prevent a superline from having excess hum and buzz? Use a Linn/Llngo 1, all earthed. But the hum is worse when linn earth connected to superline! Could this suggest superline has a fault?

Are you connecting via BNC or RCA phono to the Superline?  If the latter you need to be careful as the WBT sockets really need either the matching WBT RCA plugs or some kind of clamping/locking RCA plug to get a good contact.

Otherwise, ask your dealer to check how the earthing is under your LP12.

My Ekos SE is Phono to the Superline using Linn supplied plugs and they’re very tight and the cable earthed to the Superline. The end product has no hum or buzz. Is everything OK at the cartridge end  tags etc? Have you tried disconnecting other source components to see if things improve?

Thanks for the reply. Have since noticed my superline has no rubber feetf Do you think this might make a ddifference to earthing?

What's the rest of the system Ivanhoe ? What power supply are you using ? Are you using the loading plugs ? Finally, where is the Superline located in respect to other components ?
