Using Nait 2 as preamp

I have an Olive Nait 2 with the optional preamp out connection so that I can use it as an amplifier.  If I do that, will the Nait 2 derive its power from its own internal power supply, or will it run off of the amplifier like the Naim preamps?  As a temporary measure, I am considering running the Nait 2 with an old NAP160 BD, at least until I can find the right preamp for the 160.  Will this connect correctly?  Thanks.

I'm fairly sure that when fitted with the pre-out it still means the NAIT is self powered. However, I would consider this one carefully.  The NAIT 2 is nigh on perfect as a little integrated amp, but I'm told it is rather less stellar when used as a pre-amp.  Certainly a NAC42/42.5/62 would be better here. Of course much will depend on your old BD NAP160.  If it's a really early one then it will have no pre-amp supply inside, so...

My ultimate goal is the amp, NAC32.5 and Hicap.  Just not sure how fast I will get there.  I'm not sure anyone has been hairbrained enough to try what I am proposing, but I just want to see if it is TOO crazy.
