Problem with Naim Nait 5si AV mode

Hi!

I have a Naim Nait 5si amd and Marantz NR1506 receiver and am trying to integrate them together using the Nait's AV mode. The RCA cables connecting them are setup correctly and the front speakers are connected to the Naim. If I press the pre button on the remote handset and then press and hold the prog button the AV mode button of the front panel is ligthed but when I release the prog button the CD mode is lighted. The only input of the Naim that is connected is the AV input. If I press twice the AV button on the front panel the mode is selected and lightens but the volume control indicator continues lightening and it's also controlled by the Naim's remote handset which regulates both the Marantz's and Naim's volume level. If I press number 4 on the remote handset it's also selecting the AV mode and the AV button lightens but again the volume level is controlled. I also tried pressing the AV mode button twice and then pressing pre and prog buttons on the remote handset but still not having any success. When in AV mode the receiver controlls the surround speakers and the Naim controlls the front speakers - they all make sound. The only problem is that it seems the preamplifier stage of the Naim is not bypassed and Naim's volume knob is active and regulates the sound level.

Do you have any suggestions what might be the problem?

From the manual

14.2 AV Bypass
To select AV Bypass, rst switch the NAIT 5si into program mode by pressing and holding the handset prog key (with the handset in preamplier mode). The front panel av button will illuminate if AV Bypass is selected. If it is not enabled it can be switched on by pressing av button twice.
The NAIT 5si volume control indicator will extinguish when AV Bypass mode is engaged and the av input is selected. Remote handset volume control and mute function will also be disabled.

Now... put your Nait into a regular CD mode. Press mute. Now select AV - it should switch to AV and un-mute the amp.

Hi, I managed to connect them with the following procedure:

When the amp is powered on the CD input is selected on the front panel. After holding prog button the AV mode button lights and the green indicator on the volume regulator flashes a few times, then after releasing the prog button the input is again switched to CD. Then after pressing the AV button twice on the front panel the AV bypassing is successfully activated.
