Mac - Issue with Photo since High Sierra upgrade

Seems like Mac forums have similar unanswered posts. Apple need to send more time bug fixing than providing me too features IMO.

I'm still running Yosemite with Aperture and loathe the day the dropped support for it but have no intention of changing to adopt some less than satisfactory inferior fancy solution.

iPhoto should still be there - at least mine is. In fact, all the photos I put in there when it was still current are still there too, although I can see them in Photos as well. Then again, I'm not having your issues with Photos.

D'oh! OK I found it.  What foxed me is that it used to be on the bottom bar but with the update Photo took its place, so i assumed it had replaced it in toto.  Brilliant, thanks. 

If you are not aware, there is a High Sierra update (10.13.3) released in the last three days that

"fixes an issue where certain character sequences could cause apps to crash".

On Wednesday morning my MacBook Pro (2011) wouldn't boot as normal - totally frozen.  Over the last two days I have spent nearly three hours on the phone with Apple support and an additional 7 hours myself as we needed to "wipe" the hard drive and reinstall OS-X operating system and then reinstall all my data from my back-up portable hard drive (hope that states it properly-I am not computer literate).  Apple was very kind and helpful and I was very patient.  But not a pleasant two days.

Jeff, I had the same thing happen while I was In Germany on business.  Not a nice experience, but thankfully I had a time machine backup that I had made a week or two earlier so info loss was minimal.

I'm pleased if apple have managed to fix the problem.

I went back from High Sierra to Mavericks a few weeks ago. Ever since I upgraded to High Sierra my Mac Pro Late 2013 was having constant screen freezes, only the sound and the cursor kept on working during these freezes. The only thing I could do in this case was a force reboot. Did a bit of research and it turned out to be a graphics card problem according to Apple and there's a program in place now that you can switch your card for another model at cost. Researched a bit further and found out that people in the same boat went back to Mavericks and the problem was gone! Made a bootable usb stick with Mavericks on it and did a reinstall. Touching wood but no more freezes since. Clearly a High Sierra bug affecting only the Mac Pro Late 2013 model but Apple won't admit it, they rather change the cards instead...
