Pre to non naim source interconnect (52>Hugo)
Posted by: Mort2k on 25 February 2018
To the collective wisdom, what’s the best cable to join my 52 and Hugo together.
I used a HiLine for the NDX but finding Din-RCA s/h ones is impossible.
Would like to avoid SL prices., so say sub £500 happy to go new or s/h.
Thanks
Rob
Rob, the RCA-DIN Hi-Line works well on the Hugo into a Naim pre-amp.

Thanks Richard good to know, if I can find one at a good price, new bit pricey right now. May just have to wait and get a new one.

I cannot agree more. I was lucky to find a trade in RCA to DIN Hi-Line for a very reasonable price indeed after looking for more than 6 months. Don’t under estimate the Lavender ot the likes of Chord though. They will give great results too. What does make another difference is to use a BNC to RCA on the dig side and avoid all adaptors.

Mort, I forgot to mention, the only caveat here is if you have an early Hugo with the very tight clearance on the RCA phono sockets. If so, I'm not sure you'll be able to get the WBT Next Gen RCA Phono plugs on the Hi-Line to fit. No such problem though on the revised Hugo with the wider openings on the RCA Phono recesses.

Thanks for this -very useful info - how do i tell which version it have ? do you know ?
Thanks
Rob
The naim lavender rca to din cable is very good and I really like the hiline
But also .. I’ve had good results from the vertere DFI RCA to Din cable with Chord DAC into naim preamps
its different to naim cables but a very dynamic and involving sound with superb clarity
Rob, you'll be able to see for yourself as the the very early Hugo has only a very tight clearance around the RCA phono recess in the body.
