Has there been any indication if the new streamers will be Roon ready?

Yes they will be

My Nova is happily playing via Roon as I type.

Yes, they are able to function as Roon 'Endpoints' now, you just need something else to run as a Roon 'Core' and they will work.

I wasn't asking about the existing Uniti products, I was asking about the just announced streamers.

I think until we know for sure, it would be safe to assume that the new streamers will have the same (streaming) capabilities as the Uniti line.

You only have to look on Naim’s website, where it is clear that the new streamers are Roon ready.

Roon Endpoints, Roon Core, Roon Ready! I'm confused. Would someone kindly explain in words of one syllable what the differences are between these and, if the new Naim streamers are 'Roon Ready', is there any more kit needed for them to access Roon and will they have full Roon functionality.

Same request as NIGELB please!

Hi Nigel and Robert,

Roon Core is the server, similar to the UPnP server you might run on your NAS (eg asset or minim or twonky or whatever; it runs on a computer on your network (Mac, pc, a special Linux box running Roon CORE, and some higher powered NAS). It builds a complex database of metadata for your library and makes it available during your playing experience.

Roon Endpoint is the client, the receiver if you like, now built in to Uniti devices plus available as software for a variety of computers, phones, and the like , similar to the UPnP client you might already be familiar with for intranet music streaming from the server on your NAS

Roon Ready is the name for commercial products, like Naim Uniti, that have the Roon Enpoint client software built in.

You need a server and a client to enjoy Roon, just like for UPnP in your home or, if you prefer online streaming, just like the RadioParadise radio server on the internet and your internet radio client, or Tidal / Spotify online servers and their local clients (built in to the Naim app and firmware for the past few years)

Hope this helps!

Regards alan
