Superline/ Supercap dr. vs Linn Radikal

Posted by: zoot on 04 March 2018

Not knowing a great regarding gear I have an opportunity to go to a superline as I have a SC that I'm not currently using, I've had for the past 7 years with no issues or complaint, I'm just wondering if getting the SuperLine is a significant jump forward. I would very much appreciate the forums thoughts.

SuperLine + SuperCap is a superb combo. On par with Urika, or dare I say even better....

Some have gone either way and Ekos or Aro preference seemed to have some correlation, within the limits of a Linn anyway.

So, are you saying you already have an Urika as in which case I assume you have a Radikal to power it but are using an Armageddon, rather than the Radikal, to power what I assume is an L12?

Hi Zoot

It really helps when you ask for advice to post full information about your system on your personal profile.

Opinion divides on the Urika/Radikal v Superline/SuperCap comparison. There was a long thread on here a few years ago when a few on the forum went to Cymbiosis for a comparison. I seem to remember Fangoss Flyer (Richard) was one of them. I think the conclusion was that they were extremely close and both excellent - choice was very much down to subjective preference.

I briefly had a SuperLine run off a 282 but I had problems with RF interference and that plus a shortage of space led me to trade in the SuperLine for the Urika (I already had a Radikal power supply). But I haven't heard a properly set up SuperLine with SuperCap in my current system.

I was there Clive. I much prefer the Urika when using an Aro. On that day I still preferred the Urika even though it was hampered by using an Ekos SE. But the lesser arm made the result closer imho

Whilst I am still a Superline user I would advise anyone to dem the Urika as it is a quality product that works out a lot cheaper when all is taken into account ...,,,and the Urika has just got even better!
