USB stick vs eathernet.

Daft as it might seem, have any Qute/UnityQute or NDX/HDXssd owners compared a properly ripped red book 16/44.1 wav file via stick and eathernet for sound quality?

My reason for asking is that Upnp does not support gapless album playback, which is fine on most albums but not all.

This I think could be my last objection too streaming audio, if I could just playback the gapless files from a flash drive with the same quality as files stored on a Nas drive. I remember people stating that files from an Apple ipod/touch ect did not live upto USB sticks or s/pdif on the Naim dac which is another reason for the question.

Thoughts welcome, Mike.

Mike, uPNP supports gapless playback and works very well on the NDX with asset. To be honest a system that wasn't gapless would be unacceptable to me.
As far as comparing USB and unpnp I haven't really bothered, the latter works and sounds so incredibly well, but I did dabble once with a USB stick in the back of the NDAC, it was a bit of a fiddle but seemed to work ok, but it was more for curiosity than anything else.

Got to agree - UPnP with Vortexbox and Naim works try well.

Haven't tried eathernet - is it new?

Sorry, I stand corrected, I must have been reading old posts, I remember one by Steven Hopkins stating I was not supported by upnp but after re-checking it was in 2009!

I also did a bit of reading on the web which also must be out dated.

Thanks for the info, Mike.
