"Can't Play. Skipped track" Error message - problem solved.

Posted by: Yetizone on 09 March 2018

I had a bizarre network fault today. Attempted to play albums via UPnP and kept getting the “Can't Play. Skipped track” error message on the UnitiQute2 display and iPad App. iRadio, Bluetooth / USB / iPod playback worked just fine, so a network error of some sort?

First issue I’ve had after months of UPnP streaming from the Mac Mini as server. The only routine change being a first time OSX Time Machine backup las night, just to compare with my usual Carbon Copy Cloner backups. Utterly bizarre if it was a Time Machine conflict.

Solution: A system wide shut down (router, Mac, 'Qute, control devices). Asset deleted and reinstalled on the Mac (then restarted), Asset Library instances reconfigured, iPhone, iPad & iPod apps deleted and downloaded afresh. All working fine for the last hour, so thought I'd post up the issue in case someone else has the same problem.

Anyone else had this issue? Surely a coincidence with the Time Machine backup.

I had this message come up on the Naim app at the beginning of the week. My 272 played a few tracks from Tidal and then I got the same message as you. The only thing that fixed it was a shutdown and re start of the 272. Played faultlessly since.

My 272 did the same some time ago

Ah, not an isolated issue then. You guys were lucky with the 272 restart fix. The UnitiQute did not respond with the restart, so had to do the full UPnP / app install.
