App & Firmware Update Release Week?
Posted by: George H on 10 March 2018
So this week coming could be when we see some positive fixes for the Uniti range - Naim please confirm.......
Naim don't routinely read forum threads, but ya never know. What app ?? iOS or Android. Why not have your unit model(s) entered in your profile ??

Valid point Mike. iOS and Droid. The Uniti's (of course)
OK but what Uniti ?? thats a generic name for the all in one players. The old platform Uniti range incl'd the Superuniti, Unitiqute, UnitiLite & the 2's. They have different f/w to Nova Star & Atom, maybe best to specify.
The New one's Mike, Atom & on order Star, my recent posts around advice (from Naim) advising of new Firmware and App updates due around now. The Atom has been woefully flaky so far.
Why run 2 different threads about the same topic?

I'm sorry that the number of posts have you disgruntled Claus, 6K almost, invested in the technology and it doesn't work properly yet.
I have had a lengthy discussion with Naim support today. It seems a new firmware update is arriving in about a week, with likely an update to the Android app. I was talking about a Nova. My main issue is my servers keep 'disappearing'.
Support say the Android app needs more work - they also maintain that I may have network problems. Not that may be true but I have been running a Linn DS for three years with next to no issues.
It has also taken me a considerable length of time to et hold of support - in the end I phoned the main nos and asked to be put through, Sorry to queue jump but I have been trying for about a week on and off.
Like the Naim sound.
At the moment Linn 2 Naim 2 (ahead on corners) Sound wins but if I cannot reliably find and listen to my music.......

Thanks for the post Boris - saves me the call to get an update.
Anyone know why the Uniti Progress Update was removed from Featured Topics under Streaming Audio yesterday?
Roger
I am sure a Richard can give us a clue though
This where the irritation starts, the silence, smoke, mirrors. There's an update due, give us an ETA and the fix list.
Yes, it was because you can either feature a topic in one forum or all of them. Some forums were just getting top heavy with featured topics, so a number of threads were pared back to just be featured in the main forum rooms - Uniti Progress Update being one of them (originally posted in the Hifi Corner), mainly because all the new Unitis are now out and are shipping.
When the next FW update is ready to be released outside of Beta testing then it should be announced by Naim. However, it could be very misleading to make any announcement until it's signed off. If you feel you need to know more than that then by all means apply to Naim to become part of the Beta test program.

How do we do that Richard? Who's the contact point? Thanks,
George.
Hi George, just email Naim on the usual address - info@naimaudio.com.

I asked because it is the Uniti to Mu-so Multiroom issue (long outstanding) that concerns me most and Streaming Audio seems the natural home for that. I very rarely dip into the HiFi Corner. I know that streaming from the likes of Spotify and Tidal is included, but Multiroom is also a form of streaming.
Also, please consider that the thread to which I posted the query, which is also concerned about long-promised firmware updates is under the Streaming Audio forum.
The last update was a full three months ago. The header still says: “So as to keep you informed of current news and developments regarding Uniti, we will be updating the Naim Forum weekly with progress updates and upcoming software and firmware release information within this post.” Rather a different spirit from being told to apply to join the Beta Forum.
Roger
Roger, Naim have not made any such suggestion - that was my own suggestion to George in an effort to try to offer some other options in getting to have some input on fw development prior to public release.
I know that the fw to enable multiform use between old and new platforms is being developed and tested but, as I mentioned above, there won't be any announcement made until it's fully signed off.
Of course, as ever, the best place to get information is either via your dealer or ask Naim directly, either by email or by telephone.
I have posted elsewhere about the shocking multiroom feature ie atom not responding to multiroom requests from other Mu-So master systems. In this forum it says 2nd week of March may bring new software etc.... anybody seen anything?? I was trying to play music on Mu-So in kitchen and Atom in lounge simultaneously tonight and it’s utterly unusable. I also had a crash/reboot on Atom yesterday for first time ????. Also on multi room the separate systems seem to get confused on what input they are looking for - perhaps they are caching previous input choices and then seem to get in a loop of confusion as to what they are supposed to be doing. All work sweet in single system mode so network is all dandy

It'll be fixed, looks like soon.
Had a firmware update couple of days ago (Nova). No sign of an app update yet.
Has not helped with the app issues as yet...
