RP8/RP10 Rigid Foot Mount Kit - Anyone?
Posted by: Mr Frog on 15 March 2018
Loving the sound from my Rega RP10/Apheta 2, which has the standard factory supplied feet (rubber/plastic) fitted to the inner skeletal plinth.
Rega offer an ‘upgrade’ for both the RP8 and RP10 - a set of 3 Aluminium replacement rigid feet, which screw into the base of the skeletal plinth.
Has anyone tried these?
Hopefully, it will bring sonic gains ..... and not just be cosmetic ‘bling’ ????
Hey French Rooster
I didn’t realise that you had the RP10. already and thought that you had an SME deck ????
.... or are you planning to purchase one soon?

i just sold my 15 years old sme 20/2 today and will receive an ex demo rp10/ with new lyra delos in the next days. I ordered the rigid feet too. I had before the rega p9, so i return to my ex loved rega.... I wanted to change from sme sound...
Good for you .... I think that you will be absolutely delighted with the RP10 ..... I certainly am!
Let us know how you get on ????
yes, i will report , thanks, i am impatient....
I tried the Replacement rigid feet on my RP10, but to be honest, I could not hear any difference at all ..... compared to the standard factory fitted ones.
The turntable is sat on a glass shelf (Atacama stand on a concrete carpeted floor), so there may be a difference if it is on a wooden shelf... who knows.

my new rp10 is not yet at my home because i ordered a lyra delos cart to be mounted on it.
I will receive also the rigid feet in the next days and will compare vs the stock feet and finite elemente cerapucks i have at home( without the inserts). If not satisfied with these rigid feet, i will return them back....
Good for you.
Depending on the stand/support for the turntable, you may have a more positive experience with the rigid foot mount kit

i put today the rigid feet. A bit difficult to unscrew the circular feet first. Not sure there is a difference, perhaps a bit sharper sound. To lazy to change now, so they will stay.
The leather mat gives an improvement : better separation of instruments, some details come in better relief. For 25GBP, it is welcome i think. Other positive point : the mat stays on the platter, no electrostatic phenomen. You should try, very inexpensive improvement.
Yes, that was my experience too .... not sure I could tell any difference with the Rigid foot Mount kit, so I returned them to the dealer.
I guess they must make a difference somewhere, depending on the surface the TT is sited upon.
How does the RP10 compare to your previous SME?

How does the RP10 compare to your previous SME?
the sme was more assured, self confident, with more bass and body, control too. But the p10 is a bit more involving and percussions, drums, are more pronounced. The sme was like cds3/ 555ps, the rp10 like cdx2/ xps2. For changing lps, i prefer the p10.
FR, is the leather mat a Rega part or from someone else?

i bought from uk site analogue seduction: analogue studio leather turntable mat , you have black or red. 34 eur. ( 2mn as the white stock on the p10).
OK thanks.
