Why are DIN regarded as better than RCA?

Especially when RCA are most common? Surely if DIN are better, all manufacturers would use them - but they don’t. Why?
Thanks Simon - I remember you saying in another post that you have chatted with Dennis Moorcroft. It must have been fascinating for you with your scientific background hearing what he had to say about audio.I do remember that DNM where pioneers of star earthing.
A revolutionary company in so many ways -Up there for me with companies like Audionote with their no compromise design approach.
Hi TabbyCat, yes it was, although my background is engineering rather than scientific it was interesting because at the time I hadn’t heard someone before talk about some of these points with respect to audio circuitry as articulately as he did... and it got me thinking about RFI in audio. Up until then my main exposure to RFI had been in radio circuitry as well as (as an under graduate) computer hardware design and reducing errors through RF coupling.
Thanks Simon.
One day I would like to listen to some DNM amps like the 3 D preamp but their stuff is very scarce with dealership and doesn't come up much on the 2nd hand market.Just out of curiosity really as I am very satisfied with the amps I am using Nagra and Dartzeel.
A question then. If I have this right, DIN has advantages. However, if the source output is RCA and the bespoke lead puts this into a DIN input on the amplifier, then surely the DIN benefits have been compromised at the source RCA connection? Thus, sticking to RCA is not such a crime.
Indeed, the benefit is potentially there but reduced.
Why not simply following Naim’s recommendations to use their products to their best?

SL RCA to DIN works a treat with my Rega Aria fed from RP10. The OP has a top system. If he uses a Superline or Stageline it will use SNAIC to/from the pre or PS, but it’s all DIN! There is a magic to vinyl that even a CDX2 + nDAC + 555DR can’t equal.

I tried DIN adapter and did hear a improvement but I guess the adapter itself becomes the limiting factor in this case? (Source output being RCA)
