Phono Board Advice for NAC-82 with Rega Planar 3 & Elys MM Cartridge

Posted by: Skyhigh on 31 March 2018

Hi,

Having been gifted a family member's LP collection, and loaned an old Rega Planar 2 to play them on, I'm keen to purchase a new Planar 3.

The P2 has been running through a budget NAD phono stage into the NAC-82, and today with much improvement into my NAC-42.5 + HC which has 322 phono boards.

The current P3 TT comes with a Rega Elys 2 MM cartridge.

Which Naim MM boards would be best match?

Many thanks

522 are the boards you need

The most up to date version of the NA522 MM boards is NA522/4.

If you don't get BNC connectors on your Rega TT cable and intend to use RCA/BNC adapters, I much rather have a separate Fono (phonostage) and a RCA/DIN cable.

Unfortunately many are using these crappy adapters which screw up the sound.
