Nova switching off while playing (Qobuz via Chromecast)

Posted by: indyandy on 02 April 2018

Dear guys,

I tried a search on the Forum but could not find anything similar... Today i had a long session on listening. I did so by using the Qobuz App (Sublime Abonnement) on a google nexus 7inch Tablet streaming via chromecast to the unity (on wireless lan).

Several times (4-6 times) the Uniti switched off by itself. I could not find any pattern....

I never had this by streaming via ROON or BubbleUPnP..

Can anyone confirm this Problem, or maybe have a solution for this?

Greets to all and thanks for all your discussions and help..

Kind regards
Andy

Do you have auto standby feature on? If so try turning it off in the app menu. I found whilst using my Atom and using analogue inputs it would turn off when this was enabled. Might be the same for Chromecast.

Yep, I experienced the same thing. Check if auto standby is on. Naim support suggest that I disable that setting it to never go standby automatically. Tried to gain a bit more understanding about it but nothing was provided.

From what they told me it's more of a sleep timer so will just power down after the set time. It did it streaming to if I remember turned it off never an issue since apart from the other quirks of the range.

Dear Guys, (Problems look solved)

I changed the settings for auto standby. I had a long qobuz session this evening and could NOT experience the Problem so far. Maybe it needs more listening.. lets see.

Somehow strange that the Nova do not recognize itself playing music and going to auto standby... actually i dont think its auto standby as the unit was switching off with less gap then the setted 20 minutes (one time it was just 7 minutes between 2 "switching offs") but lets see what happens...

THanks for your advices. I will give feedback, if the problem comes again..

Kind regards
Andy
