An old adage maybe but sometimes less is.........

...........well at least different.
Sitting here in the kitchen area listening to Jeff Beck at Ronnie’s on the Qb streamed from Tidal.
Acknowledging that as all in one systems go the Mu-sos are probably as good it gets I’m noticing different things. Of course it’s nowhere near what I hear on the main system, certainly in terms of resolution and soundstage, but I’m getting the textures, emotion and groove in abundance
Is making the late evening coffee taste even better.

Lindsay
I love my Qb, there is something very honest about the way it makes music. I suspect because inevitably my expectations are realistic of what a small music box like this can achieve in terms of SQ, extension and volume, I am constantly amazed at how good it is. Above all it is entertaining and you can't ask more than that.
Brilliant bit of kit!
Surprisingly the system that gets most use in our place is a SuperUniti, running ceiling-mounted MonitorAudio speakers - that’s in the kitchen / dining area. Music sounds good, dynamic and clear - simply enjoybable
And at the end of the day - it’s the enjoyment of listening to music that should count.
I love the Qb, you can just listen and enjoy the music.
Mine always sounds better whilst I’m drinking a fresh ground coffee....
I can listen to and enjoy music on practically any source. Let alone a good one. Let alone a superb one. But I do like to treat myself when I can.
Well, it's music after all and it strikes you or it doesn't.
I'm certain that hearing a U2 or Michael Jackson track on a Statement-level system won't send me running out to buy an album from either.

Not even "Billie Jean"...??
Run a QB in my static caravan, love it!
Delivers a lovely solid sound and enables my family and I to enjoy quality music when we are away.
I chopped my full size Mu-so in for an Atom and speakers and I really miss it, in many ways for a large percentage of the listening you actually do it's all you need, I particularly miss the sub rumble it produced, the scale is really quiet impressive overall although it could sound a bit processed sometimes
To be honest I’ve never heard a Digital system that isn’t “processed” even in a minor way. I also think the bass a little prounounced even with the right adjustments. But as a “one box” solution - excellent.
The other bonus for me, is it’s great for finding new music, at the moment I have resisted the streaming route, I’m still very keen on the cd and vinyl format.
Ditto Wenger. And for now I will be retaining my CDS3 - not long serviced - and of course the Xerses and my Nat 05.
The QB we have in the shed sounds well overbassed. But since I'm usually moving around, walking in and out of it and working outside, the big, full sound welcome.
I thought digital stuff sounded processed until I heard a CDS3. The most honest, clear and seemingly unsullied presentation from a digital source that my ears had ever come across. I preferred it to the CD555 for this reason. To my old ears, the CD555 was technically brilliant but too "digital". Each to our own I suppose. Same again when the DAC and streamers were released. Good, detailed, impressive but a bit "digital". Until I heard the NDS. That was like meeting the CDS3 all over again but with considerably more nsight.
Harry - we agree on the CDS3 but my comparison is with a top turntable.
Ah, well, that's a big difference. I got a lot of joy out of my Planar 3 but save as I might, I never got close enough to the asking price of the LP12 because the price seemed to go up every other bloody month! My later in life, serious system building phase, which seems to still be in progress (gulp!), had a CDP at its centre, and later the NDS.
The new software update on my QB gives a more balanced sound than before. In particular the bass is now less prominent. Bass can be overblown if the QB is placed on a resonant surface or in a corner. I'm using a small granite plinth with spikes/discs on a kitchen sideboard and this cured the bass boom.
