Strange phenomenon

my system is 282/hcdr/250dr/dac/uniti core. Previously im using my dealer set of dac, naca5 and using my own tascam cd player. Last week my own set of dac, naca5 and uniti core arrived. I also got a couple of powerline.

i find that i nw nd to turn up the volume abit higher in order to hear the same loudness n feel abit less lively. Soundstage n details seems better but somehow is a bit strange. I dunno how to explain. My dealer say its due to yet to burn in... anyone w such experience? Could it be other cause?

Most likely as your dealer says, burn in. On the plus side over the coming weeks the performance of your system will improve and you'll likely start turning the volume knob down a bit as the new kit starts to unleash it's full potential.

Not so strange if you think about it. As you improve your system you are often reducing micro levels of distortion as the kit is performing better and giving you a more natural sound. This allows you to increase the volume levels, which in turn gives you better dynamics - a bigger differential between quiet bits and loud bits. This is probably why you perseave more detail as it's no longer surrounded by this micro hash. I've often used the volume test as a bit of a tuning mechanism.

You are in the "honeymoon" phase. You just need time to know your system as it settles.
