Uniti Core -Shuffle Play

Posted by: Spookyfoot on 09 April 2018

This may be a really stupid question, so apologies if that is the case...I have 2400+ albums ripped to my Uniti Core, why is it that when I choose "Play All" in either the Artist or Album menu that it loads up the play queue with only albums starting with the letter "A"?  Seems crazy to me to even have that feature (which I would really like to utilize) if every time it means you're only going to hear random tracks from the beginning of your collection that start with the letter "A"??? Am I missing something or the only one that thinks this is dumb???

I suspect it's because the length of the playlist is limited to 500 tracks and it's busy loading albums starting with A but then runs out of room to go further. But that is a guess. I don't use the shuffle option myself.

I think David is probably correct, you are a victim of the 500 track limit! If you are using the Core as a UPnP server into one of the 'legacy' Naim streamers, there is a workaround solution to this, but it doesn't work on the new streamers.

I'm actually using the Core as a stand alone source and feeding it to my DAC and then onto my amp. Really hope in the future some sort of update changes this.

In that case, I don't think it's possible to avoid the 500 track limit, which has always been there on Naim streamers too. You could use the Naim app to send feedback about this issue, as others have mentioned it in the past. If enough people tell them they don't like it, they may be persuaded to change it.
