Mu-so Qb in Bathroom?

Not a great idea to have anything mains voltage in the bathroom, wherever you are in the world. Get something battery powered instead. 

With a professional wiring there this should not be a problem. Battery driven devices provide not that good sound ...

It could be electrifying, in more ways then one?...

Electricity in bathrooms aside, I'd also be concerned about the longevity of the QB in a high humidity environment.

That's what I want, electrifying musid in my bathroom. 

Does Mu-so get damaged so quickly? Humidity will not last a long time after taking a shower  ...

Bathrooms tend to be higher humidity areas. I'm sure it's not going to die quickly but I'd still not recommend using one in a bathroom. I'm thinking a typical UK bathroom here...

I'd ask your dealer or Naim themselves for advice

I think the Swiss bathrooms are kind of simila to the British ones. Naim support does not answer

I have frequently installed music in bathrooms as I move from house to house.  I would not put a QB or any other amplifier in the bathroom.  While it can be done so that it is electrically safe, you would probably not be able to get at the controls (you are not allowed to put a light switch inside a bathroom, except for a pull-switch type. AIUI).  More importantly I don't think it would do the QB any good.  What I have always done is just put speakers in the bathroom.  Often I put them under the bath (yes, that does alter the sound, but it's just the bathroom, so I'm not trying to get great hifi.  And it is unlikely that I would - bathrooms  generally echo and have all sorts of deleterious effects on the sound).  Under the bath has the benefit of being less affected than other parts of the bathroom by humidity etc.  I would expect that whatever speakers I used, they would die eventually anyway.  Hasn't always happened, but in the house I'm in at the moment I put JBL Control 1 speakers in (great little speakers).  After a few years the rubber round the edge of the cones disintegrated.  Usually, though, the speakers have survived.

I wouldn't have any electronic equipment in such a potentially wet and humid environment.  In the Uk it's probably moot as any power outlets are restricted to shaver types.  Of course, in other countries it's rather different.  I do sometimes find it rather worrying to stay in hotels overseas where things like a hairdryer are precariously hung right above sinks and baths.

Your best bet is to either have a proper made-for-purpose waterproof in-ceiling or in-wall or on-wall speaker installed (with amplification electronics usually positioned outside the bathroom), or else keep the Mu-so outside the bathroom and just turn it up a bit.

What I am looking for is a speaker with radio DAB+ or access to internet radio and access to WLAN-NAS controlled by smartphone

The problems with electrical devices in the bathroom is more the plugging and unplugging.  In the U.K.: it’s technically legal to have a mains socket so long as it’s outside the “wet zones” - 3m from a bath or shower. (Not that I would recommend it in any case).

It all depends the size of your bathroom really.

Unless you want / need multiroom with other Naim devices, I would look at (something like) a Marantz MCR511 (or get a second hand Qute) located outside the bathroom and a pair of EV Evid 3.2 speakers in the bathroom.

Hm. The bathroom size is about 3 x 3 m2

Apart from any safety issues, you might find the sound of a Muso a little overpowering in a bathroom, especially if it has to be placed against a wall, in a room with lots of hard surfaces and not much in the way of upholstery/carpet/curtains. 

Probably would sound alright with Handel's water music...

I use one of these, a Panasonic SC-ALL05. They come in black or white

It's battery operated (rechargeable) and waterproof enough that it can be dropped in the bath.  I haven't tried this though!

Sonically it's no Muso QB but perfectly adequate to listen to some tunes whilst having a bath and it's nice and portable if you want to move it around the house.

That's not nearly shocking enough. How about...

It’s hardly a Qb, but I use a UE Roll 2 Bluetooth speaker via its auxiliary input connected to a Roon based raspberry Pi that sits outside the bathroom. The sound is pretty decent for a UK bathroom space plus it’s also waterproof with my kids putting the latter to a test.

Perhaps a larger model is worth considering!

I was at a Dynaudio demo last weeke, where they showed their new mu-so type Music line. The 2 smallest unit Music 1 and 3, were as I understand it battery powered. However I would think they have to be charged from time to time.
