As a dac, is nd555 better than ndac?

The NDS with a single 555PS kicks the DAC/555PS a long way into touch. Therefore, it is reasonable to speculate that the ND555 will be even more capable in this regard. But don't believe anybody's ears except yours.

Technically there have been many implementation advancements since the NDAC was created... whether you prefer one over the other will be subjective, I do find they have similar sonic  traits, perhaps because they both use  the same Texas Instruments DAC chipsets and similar filtering electronics, however it’s the implementation that ultimately counts and the ND555 resolves complex audio better to my ears.

I heard that comparison differently, Harry, which surprised me at the time. But we're very much in agreement on your final thought.

Yes actually there is news. The beast is on the way. And I would hope to get it this weekend or early next week. Can’t wait to hear it in my setup.....

But seeing is believing, my car delivery is further delayed again without a clear clarification....

I heard yesterday that Audio T in Brighton have just received their demo model. Going to go and have a listen but I've already been told it resets the bar. Damn!

I'm looking forward to it almost as much as you are Bert. If you don't post for a week it will be good news!

Now that would be great. But no it has Harmon Kardon on board....ps. I get my ND555 tomorrow.

You've obviously been reading the latest Bentley options list Roger. You can have the full two fraim option in the Bentayga you know 

Most hifi in car is made by Harmon Kardmann......inc Naim and many high end brands. Design and then outsource.

Congratulations Bert, your dealer must be on the express service from Salisbury! Hopefully mine will arrive shortly as well.

Yeah and I don’t complain it’s pretty decent for a car, while it doesn’t reach the level of the Burmeister system in a Porsche...
